Recognises the urgent need for K-12 schools and higher education institutions to lead by example in promoting sustainable practices, innovation, and education for a greener future, which led to successfully establishing the ‘VICE CHANCELLORS GLOBAL GREEN COUNCIL‘ (VCGGC) and the ‘SCHOOL LEADERS COUNCIL FOR ACCELERATING SDGS’ (SLCAS) committed to sustainability and environmental stewardship, hereby establishing and defining a paradigm shift in the promotion and awareness of the SDGs and thereby sustainability at large.

The 'SCHOOL LEADERS COUNCIL FOR ACCELERATING SDGs' (SLCAS) has been established to forge empowering partnerships with school leaders in India and globally. Its mission is to support schools in aligning their policies, vision, infrastructure, operations, and outcomes with the principles of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while promoting sustainable living practices. This council aims to bring together school leaders to develop strategic initiatives that foster a culture of sustainability. By nurturing the abundant potential of campuses, students, teachers, parents, and their communities, the council seeks to inspire collective action.  Through collaboration, the council will create a comprehensive charter that provides schools with diverse opportunities to transition into green institutions, contributing to a better and more sustainable world for all. I invite and request the participation of school leaders in this initiative, which strives to drive transformative change in education and create a lasting impact.
